Those that feel the upgrade to either the 4s or the ‘new’ iPad is minimalist are sadly mistaken. I’ve owned all iOS devices. iPad runs very hot - 03/20/2012 Consumer Reports on Tuesday said that Apple's new iPad has an issue with heat. The consumer guide found that new iPads can run 13 degrees hotter than the iPad 2 models when certain applications are running.
